Working title: Untitled (Canvas 1)
5x7", Acrylic on Canvas

I primed this canvas several years ago, with light purple house paint that I was using for my office. Then about a week ago I started playing with some tar gel, which is an additive that makes acrylic rather gooey and stringy. All the paint aside from the background is made with that gel, mainly dripped off of a palette knife. I was experimenting with trying to find a consistency that I liked, diluting the mixture with a little water. The white paint I overdiluted, so I turned the cavas vertically and let it drip. I was mainly working with the canvas flat on a table...it's easier to drip things on it that way.

This is getting very busy and messy.

I'll work on it, but I'm not sure if it'll be salvageable.

I decided it wasn't salvageable, at least not without radical color- and texture-replacement techniques. Luckily, I'm trained in these techniques.
